The Vice Chancellor, Prof. R. A Bello, has charged students
of the institution to be serious in everything they do to be well rated
globally.
The Professor of Chemical Engineering was speaking last
weekend during the launching ceremony of Gnex Alcatel Lucent Networking
Programme, organized for University of Lagos students at Afe Babalola
Auditorium.
He apologised for coming late to the event and said the
weekend is a very busy one due to the preparation for the one year remembrance
of his predecessor, Prof. Adetokunbo Babatunde Sofoluwe. One will recall that
he emerged as the as the Acting VC after the demise of Prof. A. B. Sofoluwe on
11th May, 2012 and he was consequently appointed the 11th
Vice Chancellor of the University Of Lagos on 12th November, 2012.
The VC lauds the Gnex Alcatel Lucent Program and said it is a
great move and a welcome development that will not only benefit the university
alone but the entire country.
He however congratulates the students who were present,
saying that they have the opportunity to interact with experts and also charged
students of the university to be serious, in order to be well rated globally.
The VC who was inaugurated early this year pleaded that the
programme be conducted annually and promised to support Alcatel. He called for
partnership from other corporate organizations and declared the Programme open
The Gnex Alcatel Lucent Programme is a lecture class that
will run for twelve Saturdays at LG Design Lab, Faculty of Engineering and is
opened to interested students of the University.
